How to Capture Screenshots with ScrnSnap

ScrnSnap makes it easy to capture, edit, and share screenshots in seconds. Whether you’re on Windows or Mac, follow these steps to get the perfect shot every time.

Step 1: Open ScrnSnap

Launch the ScrnSnap app from your Applications (Mac) or Start Menu (Windows). You’ll see the ScrnSnap icon in your menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows).

Step 2: Choose Your Capture Mode

ScrnSnap offers several capture options:

  • Capture Area: Select a specific region of your screen.
  • Fullscreen Capture: Grab the entire screen in one click.

Step 3: Use Keyboard Shortcuts

Speed up your workflow with these default shortcuts:

On Windows:

  • Ctrl + 5: Capture Area

On Mac:

  • Cmd + 5: Capture Area

After pressing the shortcut, click to start your capture, drag to select the area you want, and press Esc to cancel if needed.

You can customize these shortcuts in the ScrnSnap settings menu.

Step 4: Edit Your Screenshot (Optional)

After capturing, ScrnSnap opens the screenshot in its built-in editor. Here you can:

  • annotate, or blur sensitive info
  • Undo/redo changes

Step 5: Save or Share

Once you’re happy with your screenshot, you can:

  • Save it to your device (Cmd+S on Mac, Ctrl+S on Windows)
  • Copy it to your clipboard (Cmd+C on Mac, Ctrl+C on Windows)
  • Share it instantly with a link (if you’re signed in, Cmd+Shift+S on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows)
